Active Ingredients: Moxidectin @ 10g/L & Levamisole @ 200g/L

Cydectin Platinum Pour-On is a highly effective broad-spectrum pour-on for treating and controlling sensitive and single and dual resistant strains of gastrointestinal parasites in beef and dairy cattle (non-lactating). Cydectin Platinum is effective against existing moxidectin-sensitive cattle tick infestations.

Cydectin Platinum Pour-On offers unrivalled worm control through its Dual Actives – the potency and persistency of Moxidectin as well as the broad spectrum activity of a second active (Levamisole), it is highly effective against single and dual resistant worm strains.

Cydectin Platinum Pour-On reduces pasture contamination for 21-35 days, has a short 7-day meat WHP, Zero (0) days Milk WHP & 20 Day ESI and can be used in dairy cattle 28 days prior to calving. It is non-irritant and has the convenience of being a low-volume pour-on.

The New DMI-Sorb Formulation Technology provides a pour-on that stays on, enhances absorption of the actives and reduces active absorption variability between animals.

What Is Cydectin Platinum Pour-On?

Cydectin Platinum Pour-On is an endoparasiticide with efficacy in treating and controlling gastrointestinal parasites in cattle. It is effective against strains of gastrointestinal nematodes with single or dual resistance to the macrocyclic lactone family (including one or more of abamectin, doramectin, ivermectin and/or moxidectin) and/or imidazothiazoles (levamisole). Levamisole is also active against susceptible benzimidazole-resistant strains.

Cydectin Platinum contains moxidectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone family of chemicals. It also contains levamisole, a member of the imidazothiazole family of chemicals. Resistance may develop to any chemical.

Cydectin Platinum Pour-On is effective in the treatment and control of sensitive and single or dual-resistant strains of the following parasites of cattle:

Adult and larval (L4) stages of:

Barber’s Pole Worm – Haemonchus placei
Small Brown Stomach Worm – Ostertagia ostertagi (O. lyrata) including inhibited larvae
Stomach Hair Worm – Trichostrongylus axei
Black Scour Worm – Trichostrongylus colubriformis & Trichostrongylus longispicularis
Small Intestinal Worm – Cooperia oncophora (C.surnabada/C.mcmasteri), Cooperia punctate & Cooperia pectinata
Nodule Worm – Oesophagostomum radiatum

Persistent Activity:
In cattle, following a single application at the recommended dose rate, Cydectin Platinum Pour-On prevents re-infection with sensitive strains of the following parasite species:

Haemonchus placei – 14 days
Trichostrongylus axei – 14 days
Ostertagia ostertagi / O. lyrata – 14 days

New contamination of pasture is reduced for 21-35 days after treatment.

Cydectin Platinum Pour-On is effective against existing moxidectin-sensitive cattle tick infestations, including strains resistant to organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids, amidines (Amitraz) and flurazuron (Acatak & TickPro).

Cattle tick (Rhipicephalus australis (Boophilus microplus))

Controls existing sensitive and resistant cattle tick infestations.
Treatment does not protect from new infestations.
Some engorged females continue to drop for up to three days after the first treatment, and these may lay some viable eggs, which should be taken into account when planning a strategic control program.

The dose rate is 1 mL per 20 kg live weight.
Cydectin Platinum is a low-volume Pour-On.
Cydectin Platinum should be applied along the back from the withers to the base of the tail using the recommended applicator.
Use only the Cydectin Platinum applicator included in each pack.
A representative sample of animals should be weighed with either scales or a weigh band.
Dose the mob according to the heaviest animal by live weight in the group (cows, bulls, calves and heifers).
Do not underdose.
Where there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on body weight to avoid excessive overdosing.

Tips For Use

When to use Cydectin Platinum Pour-On:

Weaning and post-weaning:

Calves are more susceptible to nutritional and environmental stress around weaning.
Worm burdens can add to further potential reduced live weight gain, leading to permanent underperformance.
It is important to use a highly effective dual active drench in young cattle.

Pre-Joining:

Body condition plays an important role in conception rates.
Using Cydectin Platinum one month prior to joining can minimise the effects of parasites on fertility.

Pre-Calving:

Controlling parasites prior to calving will optimise the health of the heifer or cow, may increase milk production and reduce pasture contamination.
Quarantine Drenching Introduced Cattle
New animals moved onto the farm should be drenched in order to prevent contamination of your farm with resistant worms. Cydectin Platinum is an ideal product to include in any quarantine drench program.

Restraints:

Do not use in lactating cows or within 28 days before calving, where milk may be used or processed for human consumption.
Cydectin Platinum is contraindicated for use in calves less than 6 weeks old.
Retreatment Interval:
- Do not retreat animals for 20 days after the last treatment.

Precautions:

This product should not be used on animals that are severely stressed or in ill health.
Exercise care in handling weak, pregnant and young animals to avoid unnecessary stress.
Recommended dose rates should not be exceeded.
Doses of 3 or more times the recommended dose can cause symptoms of levamisole toxicity so estimate weights carefully.
Dehydrated animals may be more susceptible to toxicity.
Non Irritant:
- Cydectin Platinum does not cause irritation to the skin or hide damage when used as directed.
- On rare occasions, skin reactions may occur at the site of application.
- It is notrecommended to treat cattle shortly prior to showing.

Effect On Dung Beetles:

When applied as directed, the level of moxidectin in the faeces of treated cattle is not likely to have any significant adverse effect on the following dung beetles: Onthophagus gazella, O. taurus, Euniticellus intermedius and E. fulvus.
Effects on other dung beetles have not been fully evaluated.

Environmental Protection:

Very toxic to aquatic life.
Do not contaminate dams, rivers, streams or other waterways with this product or used containers.

Storage:

Store below 25 °C (air conditioning).
Protect from light.

Safety Directions:

Poisonous if swallowed.
It may irritate the nose and throat and will irritate the eyes and skin.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Do not inhale.
Use in well-ventilated areas.
Wear rubber gloves.
Wash hands after use.

First Aid Instructions:

If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 13 11 26.
If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash the skin thoroughly.
If in eyes, hold your eyes open, flood them with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor.

Meat: Do not use less than seven (7) days before slaughter for human consumption. Calves born to cows that have been treated with Cydectin platinum during pregnancy must not be slaughtered for human consumption for 20 days after treatment of the dam.
Milk: Zero (0) days
ESI: Do not use less than 20 days before slaughter for export.
