Channel 4 fans have been left "fuming" after successful applicants of the Taskmaster Live Experience were stunned at the ticket prices. More than 600,000 fans of the popular show had signed up to a ballot to take part in games inspired by the programme.

I was one of the many viewers who had entered my name into the ballot. On Wednesday 19 June, I was sent an advanced box office link in an email which informed me that I had been successful.

However, like the rest of the fortunate applicants, I was shocked to discover how steep the ticket prices were. The 65-minute live experience was charging up to £100 per person.

Creater Alex Horne also announced a few hours later that a second ballot had been released. But judging by the reaction on social media, many successful applicants who won the ballot decided not to go ahead with purchasing tickets.

One person moaned on X: "£100 for 65 minutes for the #Taskmaster Live experience… LOVE and support the show and wish them the best, but in the midst of a cost of living crisis it’s a no from me."

A second person commented: "won the ticket ballot thing for the taskmaster live experience but £100 per ticket????? absolutely insane and completely inaccessible."

A third viewer also typed: "i won the taskmaster live experience ballot but why are weekend tickets £100 thats a bats*** amount of money."

A fourth fan of the show wrote: "The #Taskmaster live thing seems a bit of a cluster f***, why not mention the ticket prices are £100 before you get people to enter a ballot? Cos seems a lot of people who did 'win' the ballot can't afford to get tickets anyway."
