Reputation in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight has been approached differently from past expansions. Each of the four main reputations now has Renown tied to it, the same system that Covenants once possessed in Shadowlands, and the unending World Quests have been swapped out for world content and different events to reward Renown.

A return to the Norse-themed Halls of Valor is on the cards for Season One of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. Here's everything you need to know.

One of these many events is known as the Siege on Dragonbane Keep, a recurring event every few hours in which a host of players can participate. Not only is it a new way of increasing your reputation, but it also rewards you with crafting reagents and gear. Here's what you need to know if you want to take part in the next Siege.

How To Unlock Dragonbane Keep

This event is considered an endgame event, and as such, you likely won't run into it while you're leveling through the Dragon Isles for the first time. Instead, you can turn your attention to Dragonbane Keep once you've hitmax level and begin concerning yourself with Renown grinds.

In order to unlock the Siege for the first time, you simply need to do quests that reward you with Valdrakken Accord reputation. Upon hittingRenown Five, a small dragon named Flapswill appear at your side to offer you the quest To Dragonbane Keep! and point you in the direction of where the event begins.

Description

Main Quests

Following the main storyline throughout the Dragon Isles, especially in Thaldraszus, will reward you with Valdrakken Accord reputation.

Side Quests

There are several storylines around the Dragon Isles that involve directly assisting the dragons. These will, more often than not, give Valdrakken Accord reputation.

World Quests

Completing any world quest throughout the four zones that is labeled with "Valdrakken Accord" will net you reputation accordingly.

After you've completed this quest on one of your characters, the event will be unlocked for your entire account, allowing your alts to do it as long as they've completed The Last Eggtender quest in The Waking Shores.

Dragonbane Keep Location

World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - The Siege On Dragonbane Keep Guide (5)

The Siege will commence near the southern edge of The Waking Shores and be marked by a small horn icon similar to The Grand Hunt. Here, you'll find several NPCs belonging to the Obsidian Outcasts faction, including Boss, the leader of the event.

Once it begins, players will travel alongside these NPCs to the real Dragonbane Keep zone, located just north of the original encampment and just south of the Obsidian Citadel where Wrathion and Sabellian are located.

How To Complete Dragonbane Keep

The Siege functions on a two-hour timer, beginning at the top of every odd hour. This is based on your current Realm time, which can be checked via the small clock above your minimap.

The event itself is tiered into five different stages, using the same format as many scenarios in World of Warcraft. Throughout each of the five stages, you'll have to work together with other players to take down rare and elite Djaradin mobs that threaten the Obsidian Outcasts.

Tier

Name

Description

Strategy

Stage One

Dragon Wagon

Protect the giant hornswog Beef and the rest of the Obsidian Outcasts from approaching Djaradin as they venture toward Dragonbane Keep.

Periodically, a handful of Djaradin mobs will spawn around the caravan. Take them out while looking for lava slugs named Beef Snacks. These will grant you a special ability to make Beef move faster and increase your Versatility.

Stage Two

Home On The Battlefield

Upon reaching Dragonbane Keep, set up a base camp for the Obsidian Outcasts.

Clear out the hostile Djaradin mobs while clicking on the yellow silhouettes of tents and barricades until the completion bar reaches 100 percent.

Stage Three

The Big Push

Push toward Dragonbane Keep while razing the Djaradin enemy forces.

You'll want to seek out two special mobs, Wyrmeater and Scalepiercer, who aren't far from the base camp. After they've been defeated, continue to fight against the lesser mobs until the completion bar reaches 100 percent.

Stage Four

Fighting Fire With Fire

Eliminate the head of the Djaradin stationed at Dragonbane Keep, The Grand Flame.

Continue moving westward until you come across a bridge over lava that is densely packed with mobs. Clear these out while avoiding their AoE attacks and defeat The Grand Flame standing on the other side.

Stage Five

Controlled Burn

Step foot inside Dragonbane Keep and do battle with Inferna the Bound.

Behind The Grand Flame is a doorway into the Keep. Descend the stairs into the basem*nt of the building and fight Inferna the Bound.

Inferna the Bound isn't the hardest boss fight, and with a sizable group, it may take only two or three minutes to down the final boss. However, there are a handful of mechanics to watch out for to avoid unnecessary damage.

  • Eruption is Inferna's strongest move, sending out targetable Unstable Rocks. These will Erupt after a short cast, exploding and sending out a spherical wave of flame. You can destroy the Unstable Rocks before they Erupt, or jump over the flame that follows in their wake.
  • Tremors allows Inferna to call down several rocks from the ceiling. Keep out of their radius as indicated by the circles on the ground before they crash into you from above.
  • Harden and Tectonic Shield are both abilities that increase Inferna's overall defense. While the former is a straight buff to the boss, the latter can be purged.

Defeating Inferna the Bound will complete the Siege on Dragonbane Keep, and you'll automatically receive your rewards once it is done. After the event is concluded, you'll find that the Obsidian Outcasts will temporarily move into Dragonbane Keep until the timer resets.

Dragonbane Keep Rewards

As is the case with many of the world events in Dragonflight, you'll be able to earn the automatic rewards from being in the vicinity as it ends, gifting you with 50 Valdrakken Accord reputation and a Dragonbane Keep Strongbox.

Due to the nature of the rewards given, it's recommended that you complete the Siege at least once every week to earn the epic version of the Dragonbane Keep Strongbox. After this, you can continue to farm the lesser Strongboxes, though the rewards aren't quite as potent.
