You can now find a Tinder match IRL with this new run club just for singles (2024)

According to TikTok, run clubs are the new dating apps – so naturally Tinder has latched on.

As of yesterday (June 12), a series of organised runs will be taking place across London, hosted by the dating app and Runna.

The idea is that singles from across the city can come together to run at a chatty pace and flirt as they pound the pavement.

People can either attend with a Tinder match they have already on the app or they can show up solo, where they’ll be paired with like-minded runners with similar fitness levels.

Dubbed ‘SoleMates’, the run club sold out for its first event yesterday in just 24 hours.

The app introduced the runs after dating culture began to blend with the city’s running scene, with running being trending as one of Tinder’s top tagged interests on user profiles.

Surging in popularity, running has truly taken off in 2024, with a record-breaking 850,000 people applying for a London Marathon place.

At the end of 2023, searches for ‘how to get into running’, ‘how to start running’ and ‘running route near me’, for example, had all risen by 50%.

More than a fifth of Brits (22%) are also running consistently, one to three times per week.

Singles who channel their running into finding a potential match at SoleMates, will also get a post-run social at the finish line.

They’ll have the opportunity to properly get to know each other over some banter and nibbles.

There’s also drinks too because alcohol always makes flirting easier.

The SoleMates Run Clubs will take place on:

There are a certain amount of tickets for men, women and non-binary people, so there should be a potential match for everyone there.

You don’t have to worry about being outnumbered.

While there are currently just three events, it’s a trial, so if they all sell out, the likelihood is SoleMates will continue.

For each event there is about 300 spaces, so there’s a pretty big dating pool for you to explore – plus you’ve already got a shared interest.

The time of asking for their Instagram is over, and the dawn of asking for their Strava is upon us.
